datalogit interface settings file location?

anyone know where the datalogit saves the interface settings?

for example, when i add watches or open a chart, then close datalogit, it will open them again next time i open datalogit....so it must be saving that info to an ini or settings file somewhere.

any ideas?

It appears to be stored in the registry. Use REGEDIT (at your own risk of course) and look under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\FC Edit and you'll see everything....

Why would you want to look at that?

If you save the log, you will have all of it for the run, not just the last values.

thaks tailhappy

chuck, i want to be able to set up the interface on one machine , then duplicate that interface setup on another machine without having to re-set it all up...and give the setting to another user to try too.

settings idea

chuck, here is what i mean, use regedit and find the item that tailhappy found above:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\FC Edit

right click on 'FC Edit' and select 'export' to save you current setting somewhere...

then unzip the reg file i have in the attached zip and add it to your registry and then open fc edit, you should see my interface setup. you can open the reg file in notepad to make sure its nothing but fc edit settings, you can also change the log file path and map path since they point to one of my folders. to ad it to your registry just double click the reg file

do this stuff at your own risk though, i am not responsable if you mess up your registry :-)

but i tested it here and it worked, this may be a very nice idea for others to pass around cool ways they setup their interfaces (watches, charts, graphs, et,et)

No problem. I'm a VB programmer by day, so it's second nature

OK, I understand now what you are trying to do. Since I always use the same laptop, it is already setup to my needs.

Excellant info!!!!

yeah, its not anything big, but is nice if a tuner is using another laptop and wants to 'transfer' his visual setup without having to re-set it all up..... actually im just a lazy bumb and wanted to find a way to get around manually doing it (heheheh)...and now I can :-)
