Datalogit: Error opening Com1
I have had my Datalogit box in my car for some time now, and just decided to plug her into my laptop today for a bit of random logging (and to change when my fans come on)
Well, I got everything plugged in, installed the hardware for the new USB onto my computer and when I went to open FC-Edit (v2.122) I received the "Error opening Com1" pop-up box...
Am I missing a step here?? If so could somebody please tell me what I forgot to do?
Sorry if this may seem like a rather newbish question.
I'm expecting new turbo's w/i a months time and will be getting my car tuned after the install. I would *really* like to have my Datalogit working before that time.
Thanks,
Levi

Many people have problems with setting a USB port for the DL.
Much has been posted here.
I can only say too things as mine is serial:
(1) search
(2) if you are running VISTA, I have downloaded one post about USB that is about 2MgB in size. You would have to e-mail me for it id you can not find the post.

USB to serial adapters typically use whatever COM port they can grab, and many times it's not COM1.
Right click on My Computer, then Properties. Go to Hardware, then Device Manager. Click the plus sign by Ports (Com and LPT) and see what port number you have. Set the same port number in the Datalogit software and go for communication.
