Commander DIN mount

I don't think I ever posted this pic, but thought I would throw it up before I sell the car. The commander display fits very nicely in the Blitz DIN panel...

I think the blitz mount is only about 30 bucks...

Just curious... is there a write up on the procedure to do it? Or do you offer that as a service?

I could probably write something up... To be honest, I wouldn't feel comfortable working with someone elses 300 dollar commander.

Why don't you try a search of the forum? Four other people have done this mod and posted pics/advice on the procedure.

Would be cool if we had a archive section like the 3rd gen does for putting quality common articles...hint hint!

I just got a PFC myself and need to figure out what my options for mounting are. But I'll wade through the search results.....

I like the ashtray idea, but I hate to have it that far out of my view.

I used a 3" x 1 1/2" piece of aluminum bent about 25degrees 1" from one end, then stuffed it between the dash and the dash panel. Used the double stick velcro stuff to mount my PFC controller to it. Was going to be a temporary mod till I found a better way to do it, but it has been that way for 3mo's and growing on me.

http://flathat.woodstream.net/RX7/PFC/

1) Way less bulky than the cell phone holders
2) VERY cheap $2.99 piece of aluminum, I made about 6 PFC holders out of the one piece and gave them to my friends
3) adjustable for perfect view
4) easy to reach for switching boost settings from low to high!

in the ashtray spot is cool.... Whats the use of having the commander in your car, if your not really going to use the built in gauge display though? do you really have time to look down when your driving?

It actually isn't that bad. If I set it to the 1 or 2 view mode it is very easy to glance to it. Then again I am 6'4" and I have the seat set back far. What I usually do is run the 8 view mode then after a run check my peaks. At night it looks like it belongs in the center console, very cool IMO

I never said I havent seen it before, I've seen a couple of the other posts. What I haven't seen is a detailed step by step write up. Then again I havent looked for that either.
I sold my PFC awhile back, and going over my options right now.
