command mounting question

thinking about getting the pfc w/ commander. problem is i don't have a garage so the 7 is parked in the open. can the commander be easily detached and kept in my house or glove so it's not in plain site? or is it once you hook it up it's a pain in the a$$ to disconnect the commander? thanks.

I made a commander mount using a cigarette lighter adapter and some other parts. The commander attaches to this via velcro. The adapter can be inserted or removed from the lighter socket more easily than pulling velcro apart. It allows me to see the commander next to my gauges and remove when I want to keep it out of view.

I used an AVC-R hinged mount, positioned vertically. I then made a small bracket and double-sided taped it to the back of the commander. This way I can slide the commander into the AVC-R mount on the dash when I need it, and put it in my console box when I want to keep it out of view. Attached is a pic of my dash.

BTW, as you'll be able to tell, it's not an RX7.
It's an MR2
