Exclamation Cannot connect to PFC to transfer maps

So it's time to start up my car for the first time, I made up a base map to get things going. When I go to load it up in my car it just sits there and doesn't detect the com port. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all the software, and have tried each update version. My commander is powering up and is functioning properly, the light on my FC-box is on. I am using a serial to USB adapter, and have heard that they are sometimes finicky but I have used this same set up before.

What brand USB->serial adapter are you using?

I believe its the Digitus one that is recommended. I have tried installing the drivers and it still isn't working. I have a feeling this might be my problem.

First check to insure you are using the correct USB port.
Second download the appropriate driver.

Get the IOGEAR adapter.

Just for curiosity's sake we tried it with my dad's laptop and it worked. Don't know what the issue was but we used his laptop and loaded everything on fine. Thanks
