boost setting
Hi, I recently installed a new PFC and have some questions on boost setting.
I am confused by the ability to set both the boost level and the base duty.
Do the base duty and the resultant boost level need to be "close" in order for the
self-learning feature to work?
Will the PFC change either value on the display as it "learns"?
How long can I expect before the "learned" boost stabilizes?
Finally, if I leave the boost setting screen with any of the second set of values
selected, my assumption is that the second set will be used. Correct?
Thanks!

I haven't used my PFC as a boost controller for a while now, but my understanding is that the first setting is the target and the second setting (duty cycle) controls how actively it tries to attain that setting, just like many other boost controllers. Set the second setting higher, and the boost will come on stronger, but will overshoot the target, until it can correct. If it's too high it will keep overshooting and undershooting the target and will continue ocillating instead of settling on the target. Set it too low, and it will likely never reach the target.
I don't remember ever noticing the PFC learning anything, though.
And yes, the setting that you highlight is the one it will use. You don't have to stay on the screen, just select it and then back back out.

I also question about the boost setting. I set my target to be 10 psi and set my first duty cycle to 44%. I get a very bouncy boost pressure from my boost gauge at WOT. The boost bounce up and down from 9-11 psi. Anyone know what duty cycle to set at in order to get 10-8-10 boost.

I ended up just setting my psi where I wanted it, turned duty cycle all the way down and gradually increased base duty until boost was in the ball park. Theoretically PFC will learn and fine tune from there.
Nobody will be able to suggest the duty cycle for you with no knowledge of your car's setup and mods
