Power FC base mod maps with only intake and DP ok?
base mod maps with only intake and DP ok?
Subject says it all. I don't have a catback yet, and probably won't for some time, and haven't yet installed the intake or hard pipes, but want to see what the story is with my PFC before I do.
I'm worried about running with the intake (will be m2 style box type) and pipes with my DP...I cannot afford a new engine right now, so I need to be safe about how I put these mods in.
Any helpful input is appreciated.
TIA,

You should be plenty safe with the base map. Just run 10 psi. If you are really nervous about it and don't have time to check it on a wideband, just add 3% of fuel to cells above 4000 rpm and at 10+ psi of boost. See how it changes your knock values. I doubt you'll have to do anything though.
I'm running intake, SMIC, downpipe, and cat-back on the base map. At 10 psi, my knock doesn't go above 40. If I run 13 psi, the knock gets close to 100 on cold nights. I likely need to add a bit of fuel/retard timing at the higher boost cells.
BTW, be careful looking at the knock readings, you have to look at the steady WOT readings and not just the peak after a run.
