Base map safety question

Hi all,

I recently installed a RB catback on my 93fd. In November I plan on putting in a intercooler and getting the car tuned. I'd like to drive the car prior to that as the weather is finally nice. The question is whether the base mod map will be adequate to cover the mods I have on the car. Until now the factory exhaust has kept things pretty restricted.

Other mods:
M2 intake
Y-pipe
DP
High flow cat
Ported wastegate
Power FC
Stock (unported motor) 42k mile motor at 8.4-8.6 compression
Viton vac hoses, etc.

Currently the boost is set at 10lbs but Id be willing to lower that to 8lbs or so for the next two months if that increases the safety factor. I basically just want to be able to enjoy the car before I tear it apart again. Car ran fine with great boost pattern prior to exhaust.

Any and all input appreciated.

I had a similar situation.

Apexi Power Intake
Efini Y pipe
Downpipe
High flow CAT
Apexi N1 Exhaust
Greddy Profec B II Boost Controller
Apexi Power FC and Commander (base map)
Stock intercooler
"Fresh" Mazda reman engine (1000 miles at the time of tuning)

I had the car dyno'd and got 227 rwhp prior to tuning. Assuming 17% drive train loss thats 265 hp at the fly wheel (close to mfgr's claim for stock). After tuning 280 rwhp.

So I think you should be fine until you get it tuned. I use my Profec B II to keep my boost low on the street and only turn it up at the track.

My fuel pump was the limiting factor at my first tune and I have since upgraded.
My son has a "twin" car and he got the same hp, his limiting factor was his injectors.

IMO should be fine. The Base map timing is more than safe. The only thing to worry about is the AFR, which you may want to check if you have access to a WB 02. But with the timing being safe it should allow a little leaner afr's before damage.
