I have a 93 Base RX-7 currently with the following mods:

1. HKS Carbon Ti Exhaust
2. Fluidyne Alum. Rad.
3. Alum. AST

Everything else on the car is stock. I have an ATR 3" downpipe and an ATR 3" Midpipe that's not installed. I know i should install the downpipe for reliability purposes. And i just recently ordered the PFC from the rotaryextreme.com group buy.

1. What kind of tuning if any will i need if i want to install the downpipe and midpipe with the PFC?

2. What if i just install the PFC and the downpipe?

I've heard people talking about boost creep after installing a midpipe. Is that a significant problem? Is it possible to tune the PFC with the commander to fix boost creep?

I appreciate any suggestions out there. Sorry for sounding like such a newbie...because the truth is i really am a newbie...especially to ECU tuning.

Boost creep has been discussed extensively in the 3rd gen forum. Do a search and learn about creep and spiking. You cannot fix creep with the PowerFC.

The only mods that matter when speaking of tuning a car are flow mods: exhaust, midpipe, downpipe, and intake. Things like intercooler and fuel upgrades come into play, but in different ways than flow mods. Point is, radiator and AST don't matter.

You should be able to run with the downpipe and exhaust using the base maps just fine. I would assume you'll be pretty rich, fuel-wise. It would be really great if you could get the car on a dyno post-PFC/DP and see what the A/F ratios actually are. This would help us give better recommendations to those wanting to put the PFC on a nearly stock car.
