Adjusting Settings on unsued Power FC?

If you have a brand new Power FC can you install it and before actually starting the car adjust any settings? I need to richen the A/F Ratio for it to start.

Mods:
Small Bridge port
3mm Seals
Downpipe

Yes, you can just switch the ignition to Start and make your changes. However, it would be better to have a datalogit and make any changes that way.

Well if he's tuning idle, and has an inkling of what he's doing I don't see the harm.

But be warned, if you screw up and mess with the wrong end of the map, have lots of mods, and stomp on it you will blow the motor....

Anything under vaccuum, a monkey can tune, since it will just stall or flood. Once you get into boost is where the danger sits.... and the power not by coincidence...

Definately not to go under boost with it... I just want to get it started so I can break the engine in... I'm not gonna be getting on it AT ALL until a professional (or someone that really knows what they are doing) tunes it. If anyone can guide me through the process on richening it up that would be great!

There are a couple of methods. One method is described on pages 23 and 24 of the FC-Commander instruction Manual. You can change the whole 1000 rpm range under boost and vacuum with this method, Just select 1,000 rpm and increase the per centage to greater than 100%. Basically you are changing rpm columns of you 20x20 fuel map with this method.

Alternately you can richen the P rows for areas in vacuum or boost in your map by selecting the appropriate PIM value and increasing its corresponding %. Vacuum should start around 2.6v on a 2 bar sensor, the voltage will decrease as more vacuum is measured.
