Which additional injectors....

Evening all...

Im looking to run an extra couple of injectors by splicing the wiring from my stock secondaries rather than using a AIC. I was wondering if any could give me any tips/advice they might have, I've spent a while searching, found some tips but nothing conclusive.

It seems 2 x 550cc injectors from a FC is a good option (fueling is just right for what I intend to run) as they are high impedance...does this sound right?

Something around the 2 x 550 range would be ideal so if that set-up would work ok I would be happy with that, id like to come of the secondaries if possible so I dont mess up the cruise/idle.

The post this info was in specifically said FC injectors, does this mean FD 550cc injectors are low impedance, and how does it affect the set-up. (dont worry I wont be wiring this myself, just planning whats needed!)

Why not just run the 1600cc Bosch secondaries or bore out your stock secondaries to 1300cc? There are write ups on running parallel secondary injectors.

Thing is ive got the gear for running 2 additionals already, but have decided against using the AIC as they dont seem very precise. Once I found out it could be done with PFC I much prefered that option.
Have heard horror stories about bored out injectors so dont fancy that
1600's might well be an option.
850s in the primaries was also an option to start with, but have decided against as I may run out of fuelling at a later date and ive heard idle can be tricky to tune.

Im am keen on additonal injectors rather than larger as I think the atomisation rate would
be better, plus like I say all I need to buy now is injectors, I have 2 550's but they are from an FD, need to find out about this impedance thing as im clueless with that side of it, if they would work ok, possibly with a resistor or something, ill just use them.

I'll keep hunting for them write ups, like I say found a few but they were a bit short and not much info

FD injectors are all high impedance.

I've heard of various annoyances running Additional Injectors. More so than bored out secondaries.

Aditional Injector Controllers were the thing to do back in the FC Turbo II days b/c there was nothing like the PFC that was plug-N-play-able. Much easier to get the injectors bored out to 1200 or 1300cc and change the injector settings in the PFC and tune that than try to find a good location for additional injectors, weld the bung, splice the wiring (hopefully w/o ******* up existing wiring) and tuning that. I think those with bad results on bored injectors were possibly b/c the injectors were high mileage and heat soaked/brittle.

Thanks for the advice and comments guys.

I can see what your saying regarding secondaries but I cant help being wary, I have heard of some failing which I think were new or new-ish. For me I dont fancy risking it, it is annoying though, as like you say its by far easiest option

I may go for the 1600s + fuel rail option after all.

Like you say injector location may be a trade off for better atomisation...I have a greddy elbow with 2 injectors holders welded in, but ive heard mixed opinion regarding its fuel distribution. Perhaps i'll use it for water injectors instead
