Alright done, you need a 1/8-27 NPT tap, 1/4" and letter S drill bits, punch, hammer, Drill, Vise (highly recommended) and a steady hand. When you tap only go a 1/8" past the inner surface for proper fit up.

More Pics, by the way I drilled my holes 32 cm away from the manifold face, I used the calipers as a scrib.

Sorry, the GB is now over. We still sell them at the normal price of $249 for the kit, through our we site. PineappleRacing.com Online Store

As for the Inconel manifold, Inconel is a nickel-based "super alloy". Pain in the butt to work with. Your manifold is obvioulsy tubular and not cast, so you should drill a hole for each probe and use the provided tube clamps.

Yea right, ...1500 miles and they're both dead! Time to replace them already. Unfortunately, there are not exactly the most easy thing to get out. I'll have to wait until later this year.

One reads 0 ohms and the other 5.8 ohms. Very odd.

Dan, that's unfortunate. We have never had a problem before with the probes, even in race cars. They are very simple devices and the ones that come in the kit are the better Inconel type. Did you check the resistance at the probe leads or just at the end of the extension lead? If you need replacement probes, I can call Hewitt and get them for you. Is there a reason you didn't come to me first?

Hey Blake, how long are these probes supposed to last? I just got my gauge kit in the mail today (looks really nice) but I really hope the probes just dont last 1500 miles.

Like Hewitt says,

- Lifetime Warranty
- Continuous Operating Temperature Range: -55 to 1100°C / -67 to 2000 °F
- No limit to useful life

If they failed after 1500 miles, it is a defect or some other problem (broken wire, shorts to ground, too much vibration). Hard to imagine two defective probes, so I would suspect another problem until everything else was ruled out.

I suspect that perhaps the wiring melted, but I wasn't the one diagnosing the problem. I didn't contact you first before I was on my way home from the shop lamenting how difficult and costly in labor it's going to be to replace them regardless of the cause.
