GB: NGK R5883-10 and -11 Surface-Discharge Race Plugs

[This is a copy of the thread I started in the Group Buy Interest section].

Exploring interest in setting up a group buy on these NGK R5883 race plugs in 10 and 11 heat ranges. Surface discharge. They have a 5/8th inch hex, so you do NOT need a thin-wall socket to use them in stock rotor housings. Retail is about $35 per plug, but we got a smoking deal on them. How good?

In box quantities (4 plugs per box), I will sell them for $10 per plug ($40/box) if we get 10 or more buyers together. $12 per plug ($48/box) with only 5 buyers. Limited to stock on hand, which is 10 boxes of R5883-10 and 12 boxes of R5883-11. Small chance of getting our hands on more of these badboys, if there is interest. Shipping will be $4.05 via USPS Flat Rate Envelope in the USA. International shipping at cost. Payment through Paypal to <sales@pineappleracing.com>. Again, full box quantities only.

Surface discharge plugs offer a completely unshrouded spark. The gap is quite large, so you need a robust ignition system to fire them reliably. Ideal for peripheral and bridge port NAs, but you can use them with turbo setups if your ignition is strong enough.

Stock FD ignition with new coil packs and HKS twin power.

Is that strong enough?

Hmmm...probably not. The gap is huge. Your rotor housings are machined out for non-extended plugs, so you would probably be better off with NGK B11EGVs or similar.

Alrighty...it looks like a 'go' at the $10/plug rate. I can take your paypal payments directly (account: <sales@pineappleracing.com>) or you will be able to order with a CC through our web site (with a discount code) once I set that up tomorrow. I will have to check how many boxes I can get into a USPS Flat Rate Envelope ($4.05)...probably just one or two. If you want to order more than what will fit, we can upgrade that to a USPS Flat Rate Box for $8.10 total.
