Free How-to Video Downloads
Blake,
I could see the video from your direct link but couldn't view in either Firefox or IE from the rotariesillustrated site. Not sure what the problem is.
As for the video content, I thought it was actually pretty well done compared to some other automotive how-to videos I've seen.
A third gen how to, what goes bad, etc. would be gold, GOLD I tell you.
Regards,
Justin Wade

Are you having trouble with one movie, or all of them? It runs in Adobe Player, it should work for you. Let me know if it doesn't on here.

Try refreshing the page, after it loads the first time. That has seemed to work for me, I will go ahead and make the modification to the pages tonight to let people understand that. Downloadable videos are going to avaliable probably tonight.

Spoke too soon! Wes has been busy. He started a new web site for the videos, called RebuildingRotaryEngines.com and added two of the new videos. The first is on checking side housings (aka plates) and the second is a short one on blocking rotor housing cooling passages and the oil metering injection holes, in those cases where they are not needed. The housing coolant passage video has an editing mistake that will be corrected shortly and the description is a bit confusing, which will also be fixed, but otherwise it's great.
The videos are now streamed on Google Videos, so you should have better success viewing them. Shortly, we will also offer higher quality downloadable videos for 99¢ each.

In the whole scheme of things, we are just shooting videos that occur to us at the time we pull out the cameras. Plenty of subjects to cover, but I was wondering if there are any specific requests to fill sooner rather than later?

Just watched the one on blocking the cooling passage/OMP holes. Nicely done.
Could have used more light, especially on the 1/8th" hole plug, imo - it was too dark when he showed it to us on the end of the allen wrench. On a side note, I'm surprised you don't suggest putting a dab of threadlock or RTV on the first threads of the plug...
Other than that, it was well presented.

Loctite isn't mandatory for that application but can't hurt. I normally suggest it, just so you don't think you have to torque the hell out of the plug, which could damage the housing threads. But just the act of mating two differing threads will lock them together pretty securely on its own and seal the hole quite effectively.

Sooner...
Clearancing the side seals ( I see that one is coming), curious to see if you guys file or do you have a jig of some sorts.
More about clearancing motors for high boost.
No one has a video regarding porting and maybe taking it a step further and selling templates.
Later
The Dvd on building ($20)
The DVD on porting ($20)
The DVD on race motors specific ($20)
here's a good one that no one has or even ventured into...
How to fix your 5th gear syncro and you rent the tools needs for an additional fee.
How to rebuild the entire tranny.
Thanks for the fast shipping, I bought 2 of your engine stand adapters, one came just before Christmas, it was a gift for a buddy since Im fed up up going to his house to flip the motor on a bucket. The other was for me, works great, much easier to work now. Should have done it a long time ago!
