Why no PFS PMC forum?

Pretty much self explanatory. Is it because this unit isnt' as popular anymore or because it's from PFS? Just curious. Anyone have any good links to additional info and maps, etc?

Regards,
Frank

Also, does anyone have a line on the interaq software for the data aquisition? I wouldn't mind getting it but don't want to spend mucho dinero on it, I mean afterall, this stuff is a few years old now.

It's a communist plot against PFS, lol.

Actually, it's based on thread volume and whether or not the sponsor(s) of this web site sell the EMS. It's just not worth the space to have a separate forum for every EMS on the planet, and those with low volume would only get maybe one post per month, so the forum would be pretty much useless anyway. By posting in the general ECU section, you will get better responses than you would posting in a forum that nobody ever visits. Other EMS manufacturers that do not have their own forum section include Autronic, DTA, FJO, EFI Systems (aka PFS PMC), Electromotive, EMS, FAST, GEMS, Hawk, Holley Pro-Jection, Link, Magneti Marelli, MegaSquirt, Motec, Pectel, SDS, Wolf, Xtreme EFI, and others.

BTW, the main reason for buying a PFS EMS is the support from PFS. You should contact them for product support, since that's what you are paying for.

Peter will not give out tech support for this unit unless you have purchased it through his shop directly.
He has the serial numbers to cross reference.

Who else sells the PFS PMC?

Also, I can't quite make out the name on the big yellow tags. What does it say, Joe Schmo's Grubby Auto Shop maybe? Hmm, it looks like a phone number on there, too.

Ditto about the software? Anybody have a copy that they would like to archive at my home? One that works?

Yeah, it's always good to have an "off-site" archive, just in case your car or house burn down you have a "copy"

OK, so they were all originally sold by PFS, and therefore they will all have their serial numbers logged in his secret files, so what's the problem?

Just what are you guys trying to say? Just cause he sold them to the first guy doesn't mean he can't support the second owner too? I understand that a certain amount of support is warranted, it is hard for us to expect him to support the second and third owners of the box, maybe because it's getting outdated and less of a performer in the market place now. Hell, he's already made his "coin" off of the box, why bother with someone who didn't pay him directly? I would still like to think that there would be some kind of support group that he could sponsor for this, instead of coming off like someone who couldn't give a ****, unless you spent the money with him first, of course. Don't get me wrong though, I'm all for the free market and such, but it seems there is a fine line between customer base and support and just being stingy. (rant mode off)

They were not all sold by PFS. I bought mine directly from the manufacturer which is EFI PMS. The owner Doug sells them to PFS or atleast used to. He no longer makes computers for RX7's.

The thread is about the "PFS PMC", not the "EFI Systems PMS". I doubt that EFI Systems sold any of them with the PFS labeling. Even if they did, it is still the responsibility of PFS to support the product if their name and phone number are on it.

That's the funny part. If you are the original owner you can get support, but if you're not, you have to pay alot for it, if you're lucky.

In the earlier days PF did not put his label on the "purple computers" so there are some computers floating out there without labels. The problem with these units is that PF doesn't wan't to support EFI's computers and vice versa even though they are all same thing. Regardless of where the units were purchased there should still be a public forum that supports the "purple computer"

That may explain my unit. My computer doesn't have the sticker on it, and I believe the handheld doesn't either, but the rotary 3 setting switch says PFS on it. Strange.
