Exclamation Peter Farrell

Is anyone running a full Peter Farrell installed and tuned single turbo set-up? I was wondering what people felt about the quality of the install and parts, as well as reliability. More specifically, how does the kit compare to other popular kits like A-Spec's or RX7Store's.

Also, in terms of performance, which one makes full power quickest and has the most streetable feel. I'm looking to ultimately make about 400hp or just south of that. It probably won't be used for drag as much as hot-lapping or the like. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chris,
Dave Claire (FD3Boost) has the PFS turbo kit. Its a very nice kit for the street. He made 430ishrwhp @15psi which is more than enough and it spools quick due to being ballbearing. The quality of the manifold is top notch. Plus you can't go wrong with Ray Wilson tuning it, look at my car. Good luckwith your choice

Chris,

I can chime in a small amount. I rode shotgun in Dave Claire's(FD3Boost) RX-7. And it scared me to death. It pulled hard all the way through 4 gears, and the top of 5th. We could not go any further, we were going to fast. LOL

And yeah, look at ErnieT's car, that thing is ludacris speed fast!!

I had a bad experience with Peter Farrell. Not his parts just his quality if workmanship. This was a number of years ago so I'll leave it at that.

Yea I have a PFS turbo "kit" It was something Ray helped me piece together. I dont think it is something that is a specific kit you can buy although I am sure he could easily duplicate it. Its a Precision Turbo T67. (not ball bearing though Ernie, btw there is also no "e" in my last name. Clair) So it made 430hp at 16psi with a low compression motor. Ray is building me a new motor next week. The turbo is very nice and I am even down sizing it some ( originally suggest to me by Ray but I had my mind made up on a big hotside. I should habe listened to him in the first place. The shops fabrication skills of both Jason and Ray are top notch. Fit and finish on all the parts is very good. Ray is a "detail" guy. I am picky about my car and he sets things up better than I would most of the time. Overall the quality and craftsmanship is cream of the crop.

I have been a PFS customer since 2001 and I have never had any complaints. Especially not since Ray bought out Peter. Ray has been working on my car for a long time and I trust his work with no hesitation. He is extremely talented and very honest. My only complaint is I don't have enough cash to hire him to build me a three rotor motor.

Take your car there you will be happy that you did.

BTW, Chris. It should be noted that the name of the business is offically changed to PFSupercars. Not Peter Farrell. I think the PFS now stands for Pretty Flippin Sweet!!

Thumbs up

Ray Wilson does outstanding work. It's insane how much detail he goes through to make sure he is tuning your RX-7 correctly. I strongly recommend Ray, he is extremely nice, helpful, and can ****-in' tune!

MD pfsupercars and ray wilson

I have not been on this site for ages.....
I have a completely modified and race ported 93' rx-7 which was built by Peter Farrell Supercars (when they were in business) and was subsequently serviced by Ray Wilson (who bought Peter out and created pfsupercars.) Ray has basically taken care of my car in some form or another since 95' but I am not sure that he and pfs are still in business. I have been unable to get a return call in over 6 weeks now. Does anyone know if he is still in business? or did he go under?
If he is out of business who in my area (Columbia, MD) can service my car?
I need someone who knows these cars in and out like Ray did and that I can trust.
Any help would be appreciated.

Good luck... The post you quoted was from 2013, the user you're asking a favor from hasn't logged on since early 2015, and PFSupercars died a fiery death 5-6 years ago due to poor management and numerous legal troubles that stemmed from the owner effectively destroying his life and screwing over all his loyal customers.
