jumping in a little late
but where else can u get a 9k redline reving engine with that much horses
i wouldnt mind driving a car like that at all, and under 2000 pounds

guess someone has to do a renesis swap to beat that
but i dont think it could beat it with the relialibiltiy / fuel economy

To think about it...
At one time, there was a Ex Winston Cup 18 degree V-6 engine that was going in the car.
It was back from the good old days when they ran the V-6 in Winston Cup.

Just the other day I was making fun of all my Honduh friends... Well, Damnit... Guess I gotta get this swap, and get my plates to say "VtecThs" like I was planning...

Id love to pull up to the line and smoke a honda, and they say "NO FAIR YOUR TURBO, AND ROTARY" (believe me, here in Vegas you hear all the excuses)...

POP MY HOOD!!! Whabam... S2k motor!

Still, rb25 or even an sr20... i saw a picture of a sr in a fc the other day...

A few interesting things...

This car, was a "Learning medium" for my friends kid. I used this car to teach him race car construction, from design, to fabricating, and now tuning. Currently, he is now learning how to drive it with Ken Maeda, and Barry Wong as mentors. Also, he is 17 years old, and we even made him paint the car as well (this was the first car he painted).

BEAUTIFUL!

omg, so so so nice.
super clean, full-on racecar setup.

amazing chassis by Mazda, probably for dirt cheap too. (thats why I love FC's!)
amazing motor/tranny by Honda, understood as being zero cost? wow!
amazing to get the project completed and working in such a short timeframe!
awesome workmanship too, I'm impressed.

*under 2000 pounds?! = this thing must be so fun to drive. my bud's S2000 is very fun, but I think I'd be LOL all day long if his motor was in a one-ton-FC.

I cant believe how many guys are anti-vtec (no it isnt V-TECH! that is a phone!) or against hybrid FC's. unbelievable. especially since this vtec-FC is probably more fun to drive, would do better in competition and be much more reliable than 90% of their cars!

whoever figured 5k for the S2k swaap is right on -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

this gives me many more ideas for my next FC project... thanks for posting the pics!

I know alot of people in this room are going to try to put me up on the cross for what i am about to say but here it goes... I despise honda with a passion... not so much the nsx and the s2k as the fwd 4 cyl platforms... I am sick and tired of everyone talking about honda this and honda that... a long time ago I vowed to put a end to all of this locally at least and try to shut down every honda I run against and have done so... so far... I beleave there are 2 different kinds of import cars out there... the preformance cars such as the 300zx rx7 supra ect... and economy cars such as the civic crx ect... the economy cars give a bad name to the scene as a whole not becuase they cant be fast... hell you can make a geo metro fast... but becuase of there lack of power stock and with minimal bolt ons... makes all import cars as a whole look like non preforming pieces of ****... ( I like to see respect from the old school muscle car guys my self....) more money is put into honda research and devolopement then all other makes of import cars put togather... and for the most part there still running slower times then other makes although in the past 2 years it seems like they might actually be compeating with the other makes of cars out there... might be kind of understandable since atleast 75% of the cars that run in the nhra and the idrc are honda products... I am more disapointed with this swap then anything else becuase it ads to the myth of "honda power" and will undoubtably turn some stupid kid to the dark side because he saw a rx7 with a inferior motor swapped in it and figures its a good idea to put a b18 in his civic and start revving at a 11 sec camaro...

If you understood what the F20C engine is built after, you'd understand why I chose this engine.
Simply stated, the engine is a street version of a F1 engine. the port design in the head, are very similar to that of the Honda F1, and the only thing different, is the valve train. A lot of what Honda learned in F1 went into the F20C.

But most of all, it really didnt matter. I could have put ANY engine I wanted to in that car, and that engine is what was offered to me by insiders of American Honda. If it offends you, well, that is your opinion.

So, while you are hating, Chad and I will be enjoying ourselves, having fun with our "science project".

I get what you're saying, and I'm not offended. The shop I used to work for was all about Hondas. At the time, we had 2 cars in Turbo Magazine's "top 10 quickest" list. No one in the shop had any illusions about what we were doing though. All of us owned RX-7's (me) or Mustangs (everyone else). Even though our RWD cars were, generally speaking, faster and better performing, take my word for it - the Honda stuff was SUPER FUN in the late 90's before sponsorship money started rolling in to **** it all up. It's all about fun, isn't it? If it's not, you might consider a seeing psychologist and/or getting a girlfriend.

youre missing the point about racing hondas, they are very easy to modify to be fast, somewhat inexpensive to get sort-of quick, then for they re not much more to get really fast and without much negative consequences, especially the all-motor guys.

I know, Ive done it. it was fun but I need even more! and I dont want my car to get stolen, which was my 1 worry with my hybrid civic.
