Other Engine Conversions - non V-8 Discussion of non-rotary engines, exc V-8's, in a car originally powered by a Rotary Engine.

Tired of dealing with unreliable sources.

maybe he is in a similar boat as me, i blew the factory t2 engine up; fine no big deal i knew it was on its way out 11000k miles I planed on it, it blew at 112XXXk miles. so i put in the spare engine did not beat on just reved it a few times to keep the carbon build up down. i bought a daily and put the car in the garage for the winter and once a week i ran it. then it got nice out and started the car up let it idle for 15 mins went out side, went to back it up..it blew

pulled the turbo charger off; the front rotor is done, chiped apex seal and it did more than scoring to the housing and rotor. so atleast 1K for just a rotor and housing +rebuild for that engine so i'm looking at 3k min for that engine to get rebuilt

looked at the original engine thinking i can just put the two together and make a decent engine. nope

ive been thinking 1jz, fabrication won't be a problem i can; weld and electrical work is pud work.

balance i don't think is gonna be to big of a issue, my guess the 1jz doesn't weight a hole lot more than a SBC.

plus i can get a engine and trans for around 2K shipped
Most of the important parts are interchangable with the 2jz, so probably gonna do it.
