SR20DET swap into FC????

I am thinking about swapping a SR20DET into my 88 FC. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Is it a smart idea or a dumb idea? What do i have forward to look to? I am building my FC for a drifter, so i am just pondering. Any help would be appreciated.

buy a 240, saves you alot of work, and you know you set yourself up for serious flame bait.

It's been done before. Whether it's a good idea or not is up to you.

Id get a 240, the swap is easier, *ive had one and did the sr swap myself* The parts availability blows the rx7 away.. not to mention its easier to find parts, and removing the rear differential doesnt require dropping the subframe etc..

It's been done.

CA18det's have been dropped in too!

just a handful though. it's a relatively straight foward shop if you have some degree of fab skill. It's not rocketscience if you understand how it all works.

You SHOULD do the swap to:

1. Have something unique
2. consider it a reliability mod
3. Shut the haters up
4. prove that you can do it
5. because you really want to do it

If you want a 4 cylinder I would go with the 4g63 wide block that bolts to the turbo II trans... less work there.

Otherwise go V8 or I6 IMO, i'm doing a 1jz currently...
