Excellent Responses
Hey Guys.
Thanks for all the input. I thought this string would be dead considering I was informed to do a search. BUT in any event. This is my first post and just happy with getting some responses.
Now, about the car. I would like to stick with a rotary engine. I've read about the v8 swap but it just wouldn't feel the same. I've also considered the 20b swap, but was told it would cost about $30Gs just to get everything up and running properly. I have looked into just keeping the 13b-rew engine and fixing that up for about $10Gs but where's the sport in that. That's been done and done time again for this car. I just want to spice it up a bit.
Thank to everyone for the time and feedback.

To me, if it doesn't have a rotary, its not an Rx-7.
BTW: Thank you for defending our country. you have my respect.

I have a dream . . . to rescue another FD shell orpahned by its REW's continual issues and transplant a water injected, mildly supercharged Renesis . . .

So what if it's an old thread?
Too bad people aren't talking about what is actually involved in a Renesis swap.
Only how expensive they are for the performance, blah blah.
I see many RX-8s driving around town where I'm from, but few RX-7s. This leads me to believe the Renesis is more common, reliable and efficient engine... Which is why we should all be interested in the steps required for a swap.

just to add to the madness , I thoguht the rew was better then the renesis reliability wise ..
since this isnt the rx8 forums , just gonna throw this out there to see if anyone is bored enough to bite ..
what are the advantages / dis advantages of the renesis VS the REW . ? potential wise I know the whole lack of torque from the renesis LOL

in forced induction setups the rew is far more reliable, esp once over the 400rwhp mildstone. more then anything the 13brew is more tolarent to higher EGTs and there are more aftermarket apex seals(ALS?) then there are sideseals/springs. the weak point of the Renesis turbo setup is high EGTs cause side seal spring failure, and low compression. AI and carefull tuning can help. i'm going to leave out the compression ratio issue and boost, you can search for that. i'll tell you it again AI and carefull tuning can help.
