replacing motor

i currently own 92 rx7 with 110,000 km on the engine, which is coming to the end of its lifespan, with that i was thinking of replacing it with a 20b 3 rotor which i can get for $4000, and i was wondering if:

1. worth the price or just buying another 13b for half the price
2. it would fit the same as a 13b or if it would have to be modified
3. the engine doesnt come with a transmission, and im not sure whether there was an automatic or a manual on it, but does it matter or would i just be able to put either or on

thanks for your help

You need to talk to GTORX7. He did a very nice 20b swap using the STOCK subframe. Here's the link to his thread:

He'll steer you in the right direction.

If the 20B costs $4K... plan on spending another $10K on getting it installed and running right doing the work yourself. The 20B swap is not a bolt in by any means and to do it right costs $$$$'s.

20B's will be in the 10-15K US range and much more depending upon what else you upgrade at the same time (trans, suspension, roll cage, etc).

Better off to build a stock engine to 400 hp, it's much cheaper.

We could but when this question has been asked on here thousands of times it would be helpful if the person asking the question would spend some time using the search function first and then if there is any specific issues that those of us who have done the swap can help with - then ask that question(s).

Based upon the generic nature of the question - you will receive a generic response. Not being rude just being open about it.
