tell your little nissan buddy there, he was the one that was acting like he was 12. i was not knocking the swap, i was asking about the rollcage and that bar placement, since it is in a very awkward place, AND that its one of those generic kits, (which have had problems with fitment before before) which leads me to believe someone messed up on the dimensions (see the link to the thread i provided). so before you get all defensive, look at what we are trying to say about the cage. ive never welded a cage, but im pretty sure the way that bar is located is not the safest place for the driver.

according to your title, you were hoping for flames were you not? well if you keep acting likea child, you are going to get flames.

They make different kits for the FC and FD. But you are not going to be happy with anything I say because you already an expert at everything rollcage related:

strange car.

built for straightline but it has 335's up front?
I'm confused.

anyways, wayyyyyyy to much power for me to like it, and seeing NOS on an RB26DET(T) is making me puke. you dont need that for 1000hp, you should do it the way of better internals and megaboost! oh lord that all white, super-light-weighted Mines GTR in one of the JDM Option videos was just siiiiiiiiiiick... gave me some new appreciation for that car and motor. in an FD you'll have lots of fun.

good luck!

I agree. No need for nitrous on a turbo car...unless they are going to use it to help spool the turbo.

And how do you propose I do that? Let it go man. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Did S&W install the cage? Typically you have to notch and set the main bars yourself. It's possible whomever did the notching and installation of the bars set it off kilter. Not necessarily a fault of S&W, but still means the cage isn't optimally placed. It will probably be fine, but it'd definitely annoy the hell out of me if I was driving that thing; not that ~1000 RWHP is really very drivable.

I'm not really sure when I was acting like a child, actually. I'd love for you to tell me.

There's no question swapping the motor is cool. I'm not much on import motors anyway, so I don't know if it's a bad idea to run that much power or if it's built to handle it with no problem. If the reliability turns out to be along the same lines as the rotary, I'll probably form a negative opinion, but not until then.

Nice swap

Are there photos of the subframe with the engine installed (a shot from below looking at an angle upwards)?

Wow! That is an amazing set up. I wonder if NOx is used to spool up the turbo? Again, WOW!

More PICS!

I cant comment on the cage bc those pictures are down, but i still question the use of the RB engine over an LS series engine, unless you just wanted to be original, which is a perfectly legit reason. The modern aluminum LS series engines are lighter, more compact, have a lower CG and you start out with a greater displacement. You can stuff them farther back in the chassis and lower without affecting the steering rack, and thus bump steer, as severely as I imagine a long, heavy, tall iron block would (although if you can prove me wrong with pictures, be my guest). In a car with 1000 hp, even if its made to go in a straight line, id sure as hell want some handling to back it up, and LSx swaps have been weighed and tested, and according to the owners, are practically no different than the original 13b-rew. Lets see some numbers to see how much the car weighs overall, and what the static weight distribution is with this engine in there. Plus, it'll have a higher polar moment of inertia, and a higher CG. Off to a great start...

Sure, the LSX's may not rev as high or be boost-******, but breaking 1000 hp with them is not really that difficult. At that power level you'll need different internals anyway, and to make that power with more than twice the displacement, you wont need as much boost to begin with.

Basically, I'd do it differently if i had the same set of goals, but if being unique is important enough to you to sacrifice a bit of the car's handling and drivability, thats your decision.
