Exclamation rb25det into fc rx7

As the title states just wanting to know any details regarding this conversion.. pics, links etc
A rough idea on what will need to be modified etc
(Please no 'why would you do this to an fc' and 'It'll throw the balance of the car out' comments)

Any help will be great

Cheers
Liam.

very few people have done it. it would require alot of fabrication and be pricy. easily more than it would cost to have a nice 13bt built.

I hope you have the space, equipment, money and know how to cut, form and weld metal.

And the problem with this ****, is that you will probably need other skyline parts....which you can only get in japan....I suggest you buy the whole front clip and part out what you dont need/use.

You better be loaded and have too much time on your hands.

And if you ever finish, pics will be mandatory.

weight distribution numbers, before and after, should be mandatory too. But of all the engines, why the RB25DET... not even the TOTL RB

you frankly will run into issues with clearance from the firewall, clearance from the radiator support, location of the steering rack, bump steer caused by attempting to relocate the steerting rack....etc.

The RB26 isn't a lot more motor... I actually prefer the 25 to the 26 having swapped a few. Less electronic gizmos to worry about, less complicated, just as much power potential, cheaper, etc.

I believe the rb26 is alot more motor! The rb25 has way too high of a compression and the shittiest ceramic turbos ever. A 26 would be alot better of a choice if you wanted to make 500hp or more.

I agree the RB25DET is a simpler and more reliable way to make power and in fact the output is equal to the more complex RB26DETT, note the TT means twin turbo, but they are smaller turbos.

I have thought about doing this swap one day, in the process of doing a Ford 5.0 /t5 swap and have just picked up an old school 350 SBC making 400 hp with built T350 trans for next to nothing, looking to do Grassroots Motorsports Challenge with that one

Also alot more money for the 26... the 25 is a much more viable solution as I can pick one up relativley cheap...

You can do it you can do anything if you have the money.... But you would have to cut the firewall my buddy started it and scrapped the whole care but kept the engine because he cut so much outta the firewall the integrity and strength of the car was WEAK you would have to reweld a new custom wall or some sor of frame to add the strength back.... Looks good on paper man.. sorry....
