Mazda MZRX-7
I've decided to swap out the 13B in my FC for the Mazda MZR engine.
It's not a street car as it's now a 3/4" chassis race car but still cool in my opinion.
Guys over in the drag section can't seem to see thru the tire smoke. So i'm not going to even bother with them anymore.. I'll share pics of the project with you guys..
I'll start gathering some pics and post them later this week...

MZR as in the MZR from the ms3/6/cx7? or a built/turboed version of the NA derived?
nice. Last time I talked to Tony at AWR last year they were working on some sort of kart project utilizing the 2.3 disi motor.
Very cool, and good luck!

Yes the Speed 3 engine. 2.3L DISI.. Although I'll be using a different cylinder head so no direct injection..
From what I can tell so far it really looks like an excellent engine. Let's see how she holds up with some big boost..

For sure, we are eagerly waiting to see the engine. Are you waiting on a Cossy head by any chance?
Are you going mid-plate and auto, or have you decided on a tranny yet?

However I will be doing a direct injection project on a lambo engine this winter...
I will be twin turbo charging it and controlling pumps and direct injectors with EFI...
That will be a cool project...

Looking good, but man those manifold primaries are small.
But I'd like to know, do you think that going mid-plate and dry-sump may have helped the rotary engines last a little longer, or no? Part of me hopes this doesn't work out for you, and you see the light again, but good luck.

stock rotary oil system is very good. Never once had any bearing trouble at all...
Mid plate wasn't really necessary in my car either as I have never broke any plates at all..
My rotary engine will go into another car soon and continue on, so don't worry..
I might of pulled it out of my own car but I will still continue to support it in other applications..

I hope you'll put your engine in your brother's car. Running 9's and around with a stock engine is starting to make the 13B look reliable.

Sorry bud, I just re-read through the shoemaker thread, I guess it was seals and the like that were going on a regular basis. Anyways, good luck this year. Make sure you post a thread on your other 13B race car!
I will still be coming to see you for a tune and some work when I can get some money together for my car
