Any update??
Hey guys, I'm hoping I'm in the right section here.. I'm considering buying an FD this summer, and I'm interested in the possibility of swapping in a variant of the K24 (the engine found in a TSX/Element/Accord these days) but I have no idea where to start, so I figured I'd see if anybody has any advice or just general speculation. The main reasons I'm particularly interested in this motor are the fact that it's got great NA potential, good aftermarket support, good fuel economy, good reliability, it's fairly low-maintenance, and it mates up with a six speed. Anyway let me know if you guys know anything about this swap or have any ideas on where to start. Thanks in advance =)

It does appear this has been done in an FD before (K20 at least);
, about the 25 minute mark, one is shown, which appears to be the car discussed a little here ROTM July 2012 Winner: Ben@K-Tuned.com. It would be challenging, in terms of requiring a lot of intake and exhaust fab to make it work, but you're aware of that. The why is the question, including the unhelpfully snide remarks - the FD 13B-REW makes better power out of the box, and has a lot of potential (which a boosted K does as well, but another layer of complexity). V8 swaps are proven, easy power with better mileage (vs the 13B), and fairly easy with aftermarket kits (maybe that makes it less interesting to you). But on the face of it, it seems like a light, strong, rev-happy engine, so that is more in character with RX-7s than a V8, even an LS that doesn't add much weight.

I saw a $5500 conversion kit for the NA/NB MX5 and was scratching my head some, though I suppose 220-300 hp NA in a lightened Miata could make for some fun driving. That makes more sense to me than an FD just from the value hit, but maybe it’s a salvage etc. Some people just aren’t into spinning Doritos ...

This old thread was hilarious to read... a K20 swap in an FD would be ******* awesome.
I personally wouldn't leave it NA though.
Heaps of aftermarket support, sequential transmissions, high power to weight... VTEC... man.
Thing would fly.
Check out the various K swapped cars on YouTube and see if some of the naysayers change their minds. (1000+ hp.)
