HELP!! MX-5 with and RX-7 desire...

I'm hoping to get into the rotary world and was hoping that I could get some help. I REALLY REALLY want to put a rotary engine into an MX-5, Miata. I love the car and am in love with the engine. I know that it's possible, I was just hoping for some hints, tips, guides... Anything that you think will help. PLEASE!!!!!!! Thank you in advance for the help.

Once my dad gets his garage ready to pull his Miata into so I can remove the engine for a freshening up I'll test both a 12A and 13B to see if they will fit without cutting anything but I THINK that you need a custom or a least a modified front crossmember.

I know how you feel about putting a rotary into one. I'd love to do the same but I don't have the garage space to do something that major right now. I'm building a 13B with large streetported TII irons and 9.7:1 rotors, running it NA, and shooting for 200+ at the wheels. I'll be using it in an 85 GSL but how sweet it would be in my dad's 95 M Edition with hardtop.

I'll keep you posted regarding any forseeable fitment issues. I want to find this out for myself for future reference.

Check out this thread: https://www.rx7club.com/old-school-other-rotary-63/fc-rew-rotary-miata-whos-got-em-588606/

Towards the bottom it shows pics, (damn good ones too), and notice he says that they kept the stock Miata subframe with modification.

Mazdatrix also did this years ago. They made a fully street legal 1990 miata, with a 13b turbo complete with a T2 rear end. I remember seing this in their catalog in about 1995

Same diff (interchangeable anyway) as a first gen RX, a heavier car that came stock with a 13B. With NA you don't have anything to worry about.

Turbo should hold up if you don't beat it.
