So Touch, Mr. Supra guy (wink) I found a 2JZGTE block local (shortblock w/ no head)
just pistons and rods. Guy said it had 140k and blow-by. Anything I should be sure
to check out on it before I make a final decision on purchase. Pistons are still in so
I can't see inside the block but....

Sry to double post, but gleaned this off a response to me off of
2jz's site, should help with making a basic wiring diagram, I'll grab
my FSM when I get a chance and scan the diagrams (unless someone
has a link to a already posted image, different years help 2 btw!)
and see if I can start drawing something out.

but... the easiest way to do this keep all of the wires related to you lights and wiper washer from the front harness. every thing else can go
i removed the
*ps relay
*a/c relay
*electric fan relay
*the auto adjusting stuff
*the ignition related stuff
*and any other rotary related stuff* kinda broad...but i just started removing wires that were not being used

I also at this time moved the two light relay. I will mount them under the ecu cover on the passenger side.

towards the rear of the harness were the clutch master cylinder and under the brake master cylinder keep that untouched; their will be your oil level/pressure,reverse light, bake fluid level...basically its your waring light and gauges, the relay is you main, and your starter s-terminal wire is in there, I'm just gonna leave that corner alone until the car runs.

Your engine harness you need to separate the wires for your cruise control and wiper motor...pull the engine harness and take all of the electrical tape off of it and it will be its own separate little harness..no cutting involved. this will also have you coolant temp sensor in it(i'm not sure if it is still like this on a s5 or even if it is the same)

Note:it is a pain to remove the dash...but this is a lot easier if you pull the harness and spread it out especially in my case i got tired of asking questions and searching...so i just did it myself as a learning experience

Note: v8rx7 forum is were you can find lots of info for electrical stuff doing the swap, you can also download the wiring diagrams..so you can make sure your not cutting wires you will need

hope this helps a little and ask questions..maybe i forgot something to do something...lol

yea i don't mind i've actually written a write up on everything on paper but the stuff i posted earlier was the hardstuff that i have str8 outta my head. honestly the best way to do this swap is with a soarer/ or supra harness and computer with an s afc 2 or neo and a greddy fuel cut defender.cheapest and i made upwards of 720hp on my vert. if anyone wants i 'll take illustrated pictures and email them then they can host em on here. you better buy that block with blow by, slap some pistons in it and throw on a 1j head with a stock gte head gsaket most you'll spend on that engine is 800 bux ( pistons and head )

This swap for me is coming up vary quick, One of the biggest concerns is the shifter extension. More so I would just like to see some pictures to get the ball rolling in my head for fabbing of mine. So please to the few who have done this swap any picture would be a huge help to a future 1JZ-FC

Thanks alot -Chris

Illustrated piks would be MUCH appreciated, would help the move along nicely, since I do graphics for a living anyway,
I'll sketch out some stuff here at work when I get a free few minutes. Email me at dodomeki@gmail.com and I'll host 4
everyone else.

Hey Chris nice to meet a local, I'm just down here in Seattle. Take a few piks of where you're
at and I'll see if I can figure out a good way to extend for you, worst case fab something out
down here.

Which isn't so bad either to tell you the truth. You know what
the weight difference is between a 1j and a 2j? Just curious.

no idea, i dont think its too much, and again, i think weight is a non-issue when considering these swaps, if it was then one should stick with rotaries haha.

Yeah its true, just trying to keep everything in perspective.
As soon as I get some pictures I'll post up and get something
tangible. Hopefully it won't take more than a few hours to draw
out the diagrams.

Yeah I wish there was some progress to be made, but you know
that I still need to cut my LHD firewall out and weld my RHD firewall in.....

I figured it was a good idea to do it while the car was apart, unfortunately
my welding skills are.... laughable. Sill having a major bitch trying to find a
local with a engine hoist too, if there was any nice sized trees close I would
have just shade tree'd it and wrapped a chain.

Rentings a good idea, I saw one (crappy) the other day for like 100 buxx or something,
which is great except I would very rarely use the damned thing... We don't have Taylors
out here unfortunately. I still think my best bet is to find a local and buy him some beers
in trade for services rendered.

Rudeboy, any chance you've gotten anything together for me? Much appreciated mate.
