I like it! I had an SVO a while back. Those little 2.3L are quick! 5.0 owners got really pissed when i told them they just got beat by a pretty much identical car with less than half the engine!

dont know what year your engine is but...

in 1983 the 5.0HO made 205HP
'84 was the debut of the SVO, F.I./turbo/intercooled making 175HP

in 1985 the 5.0HO made 210HP and the 2.3T made 205HP
Then in 1986 the 5.0HO jumped up to 255HP

The 2.3L turbo weighed about 100 pounds less than the 302.

What are you using for a slave cylinder for the clutch? I am thinking about swapping in a 302/T5 in an 85 GS that I have. The one thing I have haven't seen is how to actuate the clutch using the Mazda clutch master cylinder.

There is a guy here running that same 2.3l, with cams, 35 shot nitrous and a holeset (turbo diesel) turbo at 28 psi and get 11.5 in the 1/4 mile with his mustang. Great engine!

Actually that is not true. My 1985 SVO had a cable operated clutch just like my 85 GT 5.0. I would like to convert to Hydraulic actuation to take advanage of the OE system on the Mazda. I guess I need to find a hydraulic throwout bearing for a T-5.

Thanks
