whats it cost to build 700hp rotory

Nothing agains V8's but there are better, still cheap choices, The standard 5.0 block can crack as low as 550whp... Good luck

you wont be the first twin turbo'd 5.0 rx7, i can tell you that. He he he. But yours is a 2nd gen, my friends is a 1st gen. Its a beast, spins 5th as it is now. Bigger rear and and bigger tires are going under it in the next few weeks. Then we'll see some times. Goodluck with the project.

And a teaser pic:

Stock rotary's don't crack housings, they don't have 700HP either. I spoke to someone making about 850 WHP on methanol, with a 13B. There is some significan't machining and mods to make the housings handle that much power mostly oversized studs obviously ceramic apex seals. It can be done for around 10-12K.

What I meant by better choices, where ford 4.6 (better for FI), many chevy blocks etc. If thats a stock block making 700HP then its a ticking time bomb.

I for one am against the V8 butchery of rotaries but it seems like you have a specific goal. Could we get a lil more info on the Silverstate race the car is being built for? Is it a 90 mile insterstate trip? or are there perhaps sections which require some driver skill? Is it in FL?

What kind of speeds are you trying to hit that you would NEED 700hp?

For your first entry into the Silver State Classic you are limited to the 135mph and lower classes unless you have a nice sized racing background with licences etc. This is all from memory, so I may be a bit off.

But that being said, I'll look for you in Ely.

Thread cleaned up.

To the original poster: You'll get better responses if you use a real subject line that has something to actually do with your topic, and you make your posts with some decent description using actual English sentences.

Also moving to Other Engine Conversions.
