Other Engine Conversions - non V-8 Discussion of non-rotary engines, exc V-8's, in a car originally powered by a Rotary Engine.

Can I get some feedback on handling pre/post 2JZ?

Hmm, I talked to them earlier today. Like 3.5 hrs ago. I was looking for a kit without a driveshaft (since I already picked up an 8.8 rear and will need a custom DS) and I spoke with a few people there with no mention of any delay. Who knows. I'm pretty much ready to buy it now, so lets hope it's not too long. I found a local 2JZ/V160 with 22k miles. I'm going to try and snag that next weekend. I'd like to get the kit ASAP so I can at least mount the motor and start sorting out all the ancillary issues.

Yeah, I don't know the details really.
Just read the news article about their shop going up in flames and that insurance would cover stuff.

Maybe they are back and at it.
Definitely update the thread when you order.

Are you happy with their hood?
That's the next part you probably have thought about.

Check my thread on Supraforums when my build is done... I'm going to try something with the stock hood to save what I can.

I wasn't too bent about having to use their hood. My car already has wider fenders (front and rear) so it may not look totally out of place. Also, the chassis I bought has a square hole chopped in the hood for an old v-mount setup. I'll probably leave the engine poking out hood until the car works. Problems like that I won't worry about until it runs first.

What is your name on SF?

Same screen name.

I did the same thing, cut a hole.
I'm going to lay some fiberglass across it to see how interesting it looks.
