Hey bud, who's doing your tune? I finally got my car running since the last time you stopped by my house. My RC injectors were clogged so I sent them out to get cleaned as well as replaced my fuel filter. I'm looking for a local shop to tune my power fc...possibly turbottrix.

ok my entire drive train is done 12k later i installed one axle and decided to take a picture of the other one to show you how beefy the axles are. they were 2k for them with the hubs. i did a burnout then i lunched the car all i can say is was the car is not tuned yet and it still threw me back as it pined me to the seat for 50 feet before i had to slam on the brakes and it was wet outside. felt like i was all wheel drive there for the time lol. well im almost dont i broght all new gauge hood a/c panel and switch panel. im going to buy the rest of the stuff new then tune the car and get it painted.

Do you have any pictures of what you might have done to the subframe to get the hood to close?

I'm a good bit into my swap, and noticed you had the Tech2 subframe with a scoot style hood closing.

Seems you would need at least 1.5" shim to bring the engine down to do this.

Old dig. But let me help people out doing 1J and 2J Swaps. You do need to lower the steering rack for the hood to close :)
I have a 1JZ RX7.
Mount engine to Mazda subframe making custom mounts on it. Set engine to the lowest point possible. I set my 1" above the steering rack. The hood will not close with stock intake manifold as it sits higher then the 1jz tappet cover. I got a Thai Intake manifold opened it up cleaned it because the finishing is very bad. you might need to shorten the manifold a bit and re position the throttle body mount according to your preference. The Hood should close. Try doing mounting everything below the tappet cover.

Ok I read the whole thread, and i am excited to 2j swap into an FD. But the thread stopped, no update on tune, videos or even if it was running. Cool pictures though. But what about that 90 degree bend at the TB, are you going to take care of that??!! Joking!!! sucks the thread never finished. I will check over on SupraForums for this build, as i am curious how it turned out..

Just looking to do a simple 2jzgte swap, med frame single, no craziness. Well on to the next build thread!

And i agree about wanting to see this thing running. I feel this is a good route to go when you factor in total cost for HP made in today's economy.
