This one was a 6 bolt engine, they are the superior motor of the 2 in my opinion besides the 6 bolts not having any crank girdle compared to the 7 bolts. It is becoming increasingly hard to find good virgin 6 bolt engine parts these days as those motors are now 30 plus years old, I am patiently waiting for my opportunity on a good deal on either virgin block & crank, built short block, or even a built long block. Still need to figure out which twin disk clutch is gonna be best for streetability but yet have a light pressure plate to save the thrust bearing.
Duh, I should have seen the lack of a girdle. Makes you wonder what caused the failure, heavy clutch, lack of oil, mains not getting line bored for the ARP main studs, something else. I'm still in between putting a 4G64 in my FD or going back to rotary. I tried for a few months to get the bellhousing from the B2600 without luck. There is the guy who makes the adapters and bellhousings, but I haven't gone as far as to find out a cost. Everything is expensive and hard to find these days.
