1st gen hood clearance question

I am planning on doing a 302 swap using the grannys kit, and was wondering if I will have clearance issues using a weiand stealth manifold and a holley street avenger carb. I know I will have to use a low profile air cleaner, but will it fit? I am trying to avoid having to use a scoop, but if it comes to it, I will.

ChrisV on torquecentral managed to do it with a small cut in the hood IIRC.

If you want it to look clean why not try a T-II scoop in the middle?

Low Profile

The Weiand stealth is about the lowest profile of any performance manifold out there, and it may clear, but it will be close. If you are going for performance, you may want to give yourself room for a good air cleaner setup that is not restrictive. My hood has the bulge from a 280Z grafted on and it is pretty subtle. It is a part you can buy cheaply, but it takes some bodywork. I have done a lot of custom work, and I just like steel parts on steel cars. Fiberglass is for Corvettes!

I might go with a carbon fiber hood for weight savings anyways, so maybe I'll get that with a scoop. I know the 99-04 mustang gt scoops are pretty nice, just don't know how they would fit.
