1jz in fd

After persisting with the 13b in a country with zero rotary support and knowledge ive finally decided its time for a 1jz. Now ive been searching on the forums and ive seen quite a few 2jz fds but i cant seem to find anything solid on the 1jz swap. Is there anyone who's successfully done it who can guide me a bit or perhaps theres a thread i mightve missed?

There's one around my way that I am familiar with and he has had nothing but great results. I'm not a fan of putting a toyota motor in a mazda, but hey if it works for you then do it.

well i seen some people swaped 2jz in Mk3's, it should be much different from a 1jz to a 2jz, i used to own an Mk3 supra and was gonna 1jz swap it but i found out that my 88 MK3 couldn't swap it cause i needed a 91+ front subframe, i dunno if that helps you but i seen 2jz swaped in also so it can't be that much different

thanks for the info guys! Yeah its just that as i mentioned theres no rotary support in my country. Me and a friend persisted with our 13B's for as long as we could but the motors about to give out so i can either import a 13b or i can swap in a 1jz which is available here. I knw a guy with a 2jz swap in his fd but he couldnt stay up with my car cuz he had a lot o wheelspin issues. I cant really afford a 2jz swap or importing a 13B so my only option is the 1jz. Now there's two 1jz swapped fd's that i knw of in my country. One's really fast and one's really slow So im really confused as to whether i shud go for it or not. Was hopin i cud find someone on the forum who's done the swap.

^the swap is pretty much identical to the 2j, the 1j will have closer rev/power characteristics than the 2j. Ultimately you will need to decide on which trans to run(w58 out of mkiv NA supra if looking for ~400whp or R154 w/ 1j bell housing ~700hp). GL with the build and the 2j dvd described above will be damn near identical to what info your looking for.
