In the latest Car&Driver magazine this Concept vehicle was rumored to possibly be the next RX3. Grill looks somewhat familiar.

Would Mazda releasing a new RX3 cause the value of old school models to appreciate? Like what has happened with American muscle cars.

 

looks like just another version or prototype of an RX-8 w/ no doors. just gotta kill the hype...

Rumours, rumours. Woohoo. Mazda releases a concept with a rotary and bam its "This is the next Rx3/Rx7".

Yeah, I don't like the design. Yes there is a possibility that will be the next Rx3, Rx7, or Rx8. Regardless of what it could be, it won't look even close to that when it does come out, if it comes out at all.

 

if u look alittle closer, that pic looks more like the rx4 than an rx3 by the shape of the rear side glass and the emblem.

 

man that thing looks like a combo of a Rx3/4 and 8(with 2 doors)

 

actually, the RX-Evolv looks pretty similar to the 8

 

That's a photo-shopped RX4 coupe.

 

Mazda should take the mazda3 or mazda6 and use a new floor pan to make it rotary powered, rear wheel drive.

My choice would be the mazda3 in 2 door, 4 door and wagon

actually, i like the idea of this. that was the idea that worked so well before, i'd bet it would be simple enough to work again. it's just the point of using the name of the honored dead that i'm not so psyched about. however, if i haven't developed an aneurysm over my past faves like the Rabbit, the Charger and the Monte Carlo, then i can survive and probably embrace old rotary loves like the Rx-3, if it were to ever be reborn in a modern chassis that is deserving. (especially since the chances of me owning one of the real classics dwindles everyday).

anyway, i wanted to add to my last post ... as long as they can resist this chrome and big-wheel stuff that so many of the youngsters like these days. i'd buy an Rx-3 based on bwaits' idea above.

I have to agree. But probably a 2nd generation RX-8 or a RX-9 perhaps? Those concept cars are crappy. Another CX-7, please.

 

Is this a true rendition from a mazda designer?... I'd buy one.

If not... Someone send a copy of this to mazda. Maybe they will get a clue.

 

Just got an email back from Mazda. They sent me this picture of the proposed 2009 Rx3

It says Mazda will disclose four seats two door sport rotary coupe at 2007 Tokyo Motor show. But it was sort of gossip wasn't it?
