CA Where to find Rx2 sway bar/caster blocks

Does anyone know where to find the extension blocks that bolt under the swaybar at the front mounts? The Machined aluminum suckers I know Racing Beat sold them back in the day but couldnt see anything on their site. I wonder if Billy from ReSpeed can make them?

We used to have them in the catalog, did not sell well.

I actually just quoted an overseas customer for a special run, guess we were to high.

I can run a group buy (bring price down) for them and the Ackerman blocks if we had enough interest.

Let me know, I will do what I can to help.

I have some on my white coupe, don't know who made them though.I might just go and have a shop copy mine and make a few extra.are these the ones you are talking about, might have to zoom in to see them.my car also had dual sway bar in the front and has a sway bar in the rear, and some type of spacer between the strut top and shock tower.maybe my car was used for road racing. Also has a roll cage, not sure if I'm going to keep that though.

Dave they are the ones in your pic! If you were to get some made I would be down for 2 sets. Its not urgent just want to do it right with parts that make a better car.

Wow- Need to proof read my posts better.

They look like the ones in the pic-

Measure the sway bar 'strap', and cut the bar to length, match drill the mounting bolt holes, and match the rounded 'notch' that the sway bar rests in. Not hard. The 'spacers' at the top of the strut mentioned earlier are pre-set caster/camber plates- Those are a major improvement as well- much better straight line tracking. I can't remember where I got mine- I bought all that stuff in 91-92, when I built the car.

I hope this helps.

how/why can't you use rx3 ones? the sway bar mounts are exactly the same as the rx2! If memory serves I have rx3 blocks in the front of my rx2. In addition to that, I'm running an un-modified rx3 engine crossmember to mount my engine - straight bolt in (need custom engine bracket because this sits the engine too far forward)

I agree. I'm using RX-2 front sway bar in my RX-3; slightly thicker than a RX-3

I called Racing Beat and the guy that I asked said that they had considered modding the Rx3 blocks they have to work with Rx2s but there is no way! Said it doesnt make financial sense to re make rx2 blocks. I dont want to lay down $80 on a gamble on a part that may not work for me.

+1 for rx3 or rx4 units interchanging onto an rx2

its been done,, many times
and i cant for the life of me gauge how someone at racing beat reckons they wont

there is two types,, ones that displace the swaybar downwards
and offset ones that displace the bar forwards to increase castor significantly

i recall that kmac australia used to supply a drilled steel flat bar with the sway bar kit to offset it downwards and out of the notch in the chassis
( the sway bar instead has adjustable ends to control caster and is the same piece supplied for rx2,3 and rx4 )
-- this moves the bar down about 30 mm but not forward

and then there was an ASK ( i think ) one
which was made with the lump on the uppermost side to locate into the chassis bump and then offset the bar forwards about 50 mm , and down about the same
( intended for use with a fixed stock bar so brings a fixed caster adjust ,, ASK also used to supply a twin bar kit to increase the roll stiffness )

We could run a batch of 5 car sets for $95, 10 car sets could be $75.

I already have the data so no need to pull parts from cars.

We also have front coil over kits for $199:

Let me know and I will start the thread in the GB section.

I sent a set of stage 1 and stage 2 ( pulls swaybar foward ) blocks to techno toy tuning. They will be making the blocks for sale very soon. I also informed them too leave were the swaybar and bushing mounts strait ( not concaved like the racing beating originals ) so that after market bushings can be used. They also make the bump steer spacers.
