!!What is an RX3 worth???

Man I just found out down the block someone is selling an RX3 in pretty good shape, let me explain. It has what seems to be an original brown color, the right front fender is damaged, one broken rear tail light, but it has a complete interior (seats, dashboard, steering wheel, gauge cluster), original wheels etc... Engine is seized but overall complete.
I was trying to brainwash this dude who knows dick about rotaries to sell it to me, but he wont go less than $1200.

What do you think it is worth.

It's hard to say exactly without pics. But from what you described I think you're very safe paying $1200 for it. These cars are getting rarer and rarer, and they rarely go for less that $1,800 on Ebay. You put a decent motor in it and you could probably get at least $3,000 for it. But of course the bottom line is what it's worth to you. That way you never overpay if you don't go any higher that what the car is worth to you personally. Good luck with that. And if you don't buy it, send me the info if its in the California area (don't know where Playa Larga is).

I gave away a 78 cosmo with 5spd, pwr windows 4 wheel disc brakes and a runnung engine with 40K miles. It had only a tiny bit of rust but needed a new interior. So an Rx3 with a dead engine, in restorable cond. About 200 dollars.

If it is in the Inland Empire area I've seen that car. I was bought from the Ecology auto wreckers off Cherry. It has a bunch of leaves and rat nests under the hood. the right front fender is smashed and the suspension on that side is pretty bad too. I had a picture of it at one time. The original paint on that car was lime green if I'm not mistaken. You can see it on the right rear quarter panel. Anyway the guy paid 1000 to get it out of the yard. I missed it by a few hours. I guess it's worth the 1200, but you will have to look pretty hard to find the damaged pieces.

It's hard to say without seeing it, but generally speaking a complete RX-3 that's not a total rust bucket even with some damage is going to be worth at least $1200.

Playa Larga = Long Beach, Haahaa! I haven't heard it been called that in ages (I went to school/grew up in Long Beach).

The bottom line is what is it worth to you? You mentioned if it were an RX-2 you would've bought it already. To you that is worth it, but since you have some hesitation with the RX-3, it probably isn't.

O.k. if this is the same one out of the Ecology yard in Fontana I looked at that car too. My older brother actually works there and the above info about the car is right except he paid $800.00 for the vehicle. The carbuerator is/was missing off the car as well if I'm not mistaken. The left front wheel was missing as well. The car actually came into the yard around Memorial Day weekend but was still in the yard when I looked at it the end of June.

Just edited my profile PLAYA LARGA = (Long Beach) since so many people ask.
If you really want the RX3 dont worry his *** wont sell it because he knows jack about them and he will eventually lower his price. Be patient but if you want it know PM me.
