a 13b or 12a stops making power at 10,200
for a turbo rotory you dont have to rev that high
but i take my rebuit stock motor to t 9,500
all i have is poished housings and street port

im not sure f i want to do that exhaust race port
should i
eh what the hell ill do it[/QUOT

i would like to see the dyno sheet of the engine makes power at 10,200,the factory race Peripheral Port stopped making power at 9800

That right, we did talk, I forgot about that. You need to bring that thing out to the track. I love watching all the piston engine racers cringe and put their fingers in their ears when a peripheral port fires up.

IPRA racing in Australia has seen some very high RPM's making usable power. Rohan Ambrose from Guru/Xtreme makes nice 2-piece e-shafts that had some cars reportedly hitting the 13,000RPM neighborhood!

many years ago,i had a gas pedal stick as i was shifting from 1st to 2nd,with a peripheral port,it hit 16,700 RPM before i could have any reaction, the Rotary truck had a digital tack that is how i know how far into the stratusfear.and it did not survive just for the record.

When I bought my first rx7 my father who was a car nut his entire life told me his buddy in high school drove a rx3 or 4 that would rev to 13-14k rpm. I believe him.

weather the engine makes power at those numbers I have no clue.

hahaha, I was just joking guys. The OP's question seemed somewhat lame, so I gave a lame answer. I dont know why this was being asked in this section in the first place.

Lives in the middle of town. We get pulled over alll the time, but talk our way out of most of them. Its extremly loud, but wouldnt go as far as ear muffs.

I have taken my P-Port rx7 to 12,000 rpm and haven't seen any power lose yet,
considering this is my experimental P-port running methanol.

I have trapped 134 mph All Motor in the 1/4 mile shifting around 11,800 rpm every gear. And thats with the wrong diff gearing making my shifts longer trying to compensate with higher Rpm.

Many setups work different,I had motors not making power beyond 10K rpm but
experimenting with intake length, intake porting and header length changes everyhting.Almost like a 2 stroke piston motor.

NSU's prototype DKM rotary engines were tested up to 17k+ RPM. The RPM's were only limited by the strength of the materials.

over hear in aus

Avenge datto 1200 coupe

13b bp twin turbo on methonol

missed a gear part way down the track and the data logger clocked it at 16,500rpm

still seemed to run alright from what i heard, they pulled it down to make sure it was still ok inside.

the car did consistant 8.16sec on the 1/4 as well..

the last i heard car is sold and the engine is now going into a cougar. dont know how true that is though as he is a bit of a horder of his old cars!! lol

^^pretty sure that one went 30k on YouBoob (edit:comments in the vid below stated 48,000 rpm)

this one is pretty popular though, almost to 30k

never, ever question Doc Holiday …

banged the Renesis on the 10k rev limiter plenty. It doesn’t make power past 8500, but you could carry more speed under cornering load doing that in a lower gear than a higher one at a lower rpm.
.
