Is anyone running this carb with a birdgeport 12a? The engine I have now is calmed down alot from my last one but the carb jets are keeping things too rich for the new smaller ported engine. Anyone know about jetting or have any tips on a way to get my carb in sync with the new engine? Any help would be great, thanks.

What are you running at the moment?

 

I'd start off putting in smalller main fuels. Like 10 or 20 smaller.

 

It depends on how wild the porting is, each engine will want something a little different. Start with #240 fuel jet, F11 tubes with a #170 air and 42mm chokes. Hope this helps.

165 Main Jet F11 tube
240 fuel jet

100 air jet F10/70

It floods so bad right now the plugs are good for one day.

 

Flooding? Too much fuel pressure and incorrect float level
240 main = maybe but it shouldnt be flooding.

 

I am only running a little over 3 pounds right now.

 

With fuel pressure that low and it continues to flood, I would look more into the carb instead of mis-jetting. I have ran 45 venturies, 240 main and sometimes no main in my 13-B streetport and it never flooded, and its great for top end (who cares about being rich, Im not following my car!!) Without main jet, I only get bogging problem when coming to a dead stop. Btw, are you using grose jet or 300 needle and seat?

 

I guess mainly what Im looking for is if anyone is running a weber 48 ida, and if they are running with a slight bridge port what jetting are they using, and fuel pressure.

 

Check your float level is correct, check your idle jet size (f10 50 would be ok) and do you run a return line? On my 10a PP (which might be around the same as a 12a bridgee???) I am running 40 chokes, 190 fuels, F7's and 120 air. What sort of plugs are you using, try hotter ones (B8egv).
