Doh!
My RX3 is not completed yet. Been working on it (though not too much lately) for the last two years!
When it's finished, I'll post pics, hire a band, rent one of those searchlights, and have a big party.
I suppose I could roll it out of the garage and take some photos of it as it is so far. All the components are pretty much cherried-out, it's just a matter of assembly at this point. It has a rebuilt '74 12A, 4-speed ribcase, NOS Konis, custom header, modified RX2 sway bar, etc. The car has also been seam-welded for rigidity. Bodywork and paint are finished, the car is the original "sunrise red". The problem is I'm working on my '74 RX4 and my newly-acquired '80 RX7 so the RX3 has taken a back seat as it's going to be a dedicated autocross car. I spent the better part of two years just gathering up fenders, hoods, and other components for this project. The main donor car that had the rebuilt motor was purchased for $40, and most of the body parts were scored at $25 "all you can carry" days at junkyards. I traveled 200 miles to get the front bumper for $65. I scored the finest RX3 dash in existence at a junkyard for $50. The windshield is the crappiest part on the car, but it was the only one available and they are darned hard to find! Thanks for being interested in it, though. I'll try to get a photo taken soon just so you guys can check it out. -Mike

Really any kind of pics would be neat to see..
Your beating me to parts for rx3s.. lol
I dont have one just yet, still need to call the guy that has this one I would like to get. But now that I have gotten my 510/1600 sold. Now I have room for the car. Just need to get a hold of the guy tht has it. Every time I call he is not there. I hope he did not passed on in the last 2 or 3 years when I was up there last and seen the thing...

But when ever u can get pics that would be great. I would not mind seeing pics of your rx4 also...

LOL, I've been hunting up RX3 parts for YEARS, keep after it, they're out there. I had a '71 Datsun 510 that I drove the wheels off of for ten years before I got my first rotary, great little car. I sold it for more than I paid for it and it had a quarter of a million miles on it. The kid who bought it put in a 2-litre and a bunch of suspension mods, then some old lady hit him and totalled it. Bummer. I'll try to get some pics of my stuff posted for you guys to check out.

Here are some pics of the header. I got this a few years ago, so I'm at a loss as to exactly who I got it from, sorry. It's collected very early to move the torque peak down, should be a good torque pipe. Also, note the full inch of clearance between the header and the idler arm, most RX3 headers almost touch the idler arm, if they don't contact it outright. Very nice! I primered it so that it wouldn't rust and be nice and clean to handle, in case you're wondering. -Mike

Yeah, I picked up my 72 datsun 510 for 75 dollers. I did not put a lot in to it. I did keep most of the nice stuff and I got 400 out of it. The guy that got it from me has 16 of them, its nuts.
I never really got to drive it though. That thing just never wanted to go for me. Then this rx3 I have told some of you about got me eye. Now I am going for that. Got any ideas and how much it would cost to get a nice motor for it..
