Trans questions for a 74 13b 4 port

What trans's can I bolt right up? Turbo 2 perhaps? Is it a 225? I have the old rotary engineering turbo alternative motor that I think I'll turbo anyways. It's in a 79, but I'm probably gonna swap out for an 82 dash so I can fit the shifter further back.

Your bestbet would be to post in a gen specific section, either vintage vehicles or 1st gen section

Any 1st or 2nd Generation transmission will bolt right to it. With any of the 1st trannies ther is no worry as to the flywheel or starting not matching up. On the 2nd gen trannies you must use the right coombination of the above mention.
Like with anything else, your intention of the vehicles performance has a lot to do as to help decide the right transmission. if is going to be a daily driver with the ocassional test and tune/feel good burned out, any tranny will do. If you want to get more serious then the Turbo II tranny will take more punishment. That is what i have in my car, (Project SE). The old ribbed style tranny is also a strong tranny and will take more that enough street punishment and the ocassional track visit.
As far as the fittin in the car, will be a matter of redrilling the motor mount to move the engine/tranny combo forward, cutting a hole in your car or changing the tale shaft of the transmission, (whis is what I did and it required a machine shop invenstment to get the shaft cut and re-drilled) hope this helps.

Prior to 83, all clutches were 215 mm. From 83 til the end of the 2nd gen run, all NA clutches were 225 mm. Starting with the 87 TII, all turbo clutches were 240 mm. To bolt up a TII tranny to your 74, you'll need a lightweight TII flywheel and the counterweight to match your 74 13B. You can't swap the tailshaft on the TII tranny like you can between the FB and S4 trannys to get the shifter in the correct position to fit the FB chassis. There is a way to mod the the TII shifter/tailhousing to fit the FB chassis, it should be in the archives.
