It looks like there's just too much involved in this thing. Too many moving parts, and looks like it's just super weak. I sat here watching this video like I was at a zoo watching a python eat a bunny. It's neat, but somethings just... wrong.

But, it does apparently work. Not sure if it's been posted here before. I tried searching around to see if anyone said anything about it, but I got nothing.

I saw an add for this engine in the back of a Popular Science/Mechanics last night, It's a really interesting concept.

I worry about the pistons crashing into the cylinders on reentry.

interesting yet stupid all in one package. no ignition and the air fuel delivery is never going to be adequate for much more than a generator.

looks like something the russians would make...

i sat and watched the above video a few times and came to a rather similar conclusion as with this circular cycle engine. they'd need rebuilds in hours not years.

I can't even figure out how the circlecycle one would be able to deliver air/fuel and collect exhaust gasses. Where do you put manifolds on that? The Russian one at least looks like it would work.... longer, but what are you really gaining that way? All those extra moving parts just add friction, and the long combustion chamber shape shares close to the same poor thermodynamic efficiency as the rotary.

Yeah, tolerances will not allow that function for long.

I would think it would run into alignment issues after running for any amount of time and heating up at all.
