Good stuff man! That is one of the last good car mags out there for the "hardcore" car guy.

If it were street legal, I would. No turn signals makes it hard to license.

that's odd, i didn't know SC now has people at the DMV go out and check such things before issuing a registration.

The muffler is a Flowmaster dual outlet. Yeah, it's loud. I got an entire exhaust out of a Dodge pickup and it had two 3" slash cut chrome tips. I cut them off and welded them to the muffler. I use a Dynomax turbo muffler when we are running near housing, it cuts power noticeably over about 6500 RPM but at least we don't get noise complaints.

I bought the car with no title, just a bill of sale. Last time I did that, I had to go to the DMV down here with the car on a trailer for it to be inspected by a DMV employee for correct VIN etc and had to go thrugh a cursory inspection. Talk about a PITA.

i did that quite while back. wheni checked to see what had to be done to get a title, the woman at the DMV took the VIN # and got an address to the last registered owner. i had to send him a registered letter about getting me a copy of the title. the woman at the DMV told me that the best thing that could happen is the letter come back unopened, and it did. so i fill out a form for lost title, and i was able to get a title for it. then later after getting the car running, i got registration. never onece had to trailer it to the DMV.

That is exactly why I too love Grassroots Motorsport Magazine. It does seem to be the last real car guy magazine left. And that Spitfire looks like one hell of a fun car.
