Tach too ricey?

I was at the auto show today and I saw this tach.

Think it would be too ricey for my 7?

BTW I got pix of the RX-8 and Renisis display but I don't know if they are too far off topic to post.

Yeah, that looks rice. What the hell do you need a tach for? lol....i think it would look silly in the car unless it was a real drag car. The stock tach is great....right in the center

Question:

Why does everyone get all bent out of shape about the suicide doors? I mean really. Just because it has 4 doors it's not a sports car anymore? That's retarded.

Wa wa wa it's got 2 almost invisible half doors. How in any way does that lessen the car's ability or performance? If the number of doors are all you look at, then what about the rest of the auto industry? It's that kind of reasoning that makes people in civics think they have sports cars. "It's got 2 doors, so it must be a sports car." Or retards in SUV's "I've got 4 doors so I drive a sedan." When Dodge put suicide door on the Dakota no one said they were turning it into a car, so why is everyone getting all bent out of shape with the Rx8?

This is not an Rx7, nor is it a replacement for the Rx7. If Mazda had put a V6 in it, would any of you really care if it had 2,4 or even 6 doors? If, in the future, mazda brings back the "True sports car" Rx7, and it happens to have 4 doors, bitch then. Until that happens, admire the fact that Mazda is developing the rotary engine, and stop whining about inconsequntial design elements.

The RX-8 is not a sport car. Mazda has not called it a sports car. It is a "sports sedan", and NOT meant to compete with the RX-7.

Why can't people get this through their heads? It's only been posted 10,000 times....

yet it can whip the 7's ***...i don't know about not meant to compete with the 7, but they sure compare them constantly. the 7 set the bar for performance handling so why not pit the two cars against each other? mazda themselves has put the rx8 up against the JDM FD on a track. the FD pulled on it on the straights and the rx8 caught it in the twisties. the rx8 is being pushed as its own car sure, but when you read into it they use the 7 for comparison regularly. the reason for the renesis? they wanted a high performance NA rotary with for reliability to overcome the engine pops the turbo rx7's experienced. they also kept the weight at ~2800 lbs with a 50/50 ratio. i don't think numbers like that happen accidentally.

with performance like that, i have to say that i don't care what you call the rx8. oh the rx8 is a minivan? i still want one (especially after sitting in one and playing with it at the LA auto show ).

not saying you're wrong aaron, this is just my take on it .

Keep the flares, air dam and rear spoiler and ditch the disco side skirts and rear apron and that Mazdaspeed will be ready for SPEED World Challenge GT or SCCA GT-2 road racing.

I just CAN'T WAIT to see that car professionally road raced and getting trophies on the National circuit. About darn time MAZDA put a new rotary on the road.

It IS competing with the Rx-7, bingoboy said it best. You can call that car a blender but it will still drive fast and eat up stock 1st and 2nd gens, and from the looks and stats of it it'll hang with a stock 3rd gen. Same HP and better suspension and stiffer frame than 3rd gen tends to do that.

I like those gauges on the screen on the rx8... I think it would be cool if they allowed the user to change to different gauges though... it would be nice to have a mini airplane cockpit in ANY car you mod to know what its doing at all times...
