Son of a *****!!

I finally found a hood to replace the one I beat to living hell under a sandblaster. I called FedEx to see why my recently e-bayed hood hasn't arrived (it's a few days late and I lost the tracking number). Ends up, it was damaged in transit and returned to the shipper, and the guy hasn't contacted me. What's worse is that it was an oh-so-rare vented hood off a Capella. DAMMIT!

I want to cry.

It was packaged really well, and I've bought stuff from him before too. The hood got dropped right on a corner, and there's just so much you can do. I got fully refunded yesterday, but still need a hood. Y'all give a brother a shoutout if you find one, okay?

I had the same thing happed to a '71 vented hood I sold to a guy in NJ I believe it was. UPS apparently trashed it, but he kept it anyway 'cause they're so hard to come by.

For future reference you might want to look into shipping stuff like that via truck frieght, for eg... SAIA is one company. Some years ago I worked for UPS in one of the warehouse hubs.....trust me you don't want to see how some of those packages are handled. If you send anything with UPS or FedEx make sure you pack the crap out of it.

I shipped a RX-3 hood to a man in Florida and I'm from Nevada. Ship large items like this by "Greyhound Package Express". The Rx-3 hood only cost about $45 to ship across country and arrived in four days. The great thing too is that you can pick up the part at the bus station 7 days aweek and at almost any hour. The secret to damage free shipping though, is to DOUBLE BOX sheet metal/fragile parts. If you double box, it can pretty much survive ANY rough handling. It costs more for sure but your going to get that hard to find part damage free. Bodyshops are a great place to find extra large boxes like this without having to pay for them!

Double Box= a smaller box inside a larger outer box.
