somebody, Anybody, Please Help Me here...
Except for one thirty year old sachs brand lawnmower, I cannot find any reference anywhere to a rotary engine mounted with the shaft Vertical. Not even the helicopter conversions using mazda engines. Even Moller at Freedom motors has no info for me on this. All I want to know about is Anything relating to this idea, how it would effect the lubrication, etc. Im talking if the rotors were spinning flat, crankshaft vertical, like a top or in a daquiri blender or a helicopter's blades=you get it. can Anybody tell me about this? I even emailed Mazda about it, no luck. Thanks.
In looking into my own unique rotary installation ideas, I've found the multirotor Mazda engines will have drainback problems if tilted very far to the spark plug side. A vertical shaft would leave no way for oil to drain back from the lower rotor, unless maybe you used two front rotors, with a custom E-shaft, center and rear plates.
