RX8 flooded engine
RX8 flooded engine
Hey guys, I managed to flood my RX8 by starting it up and stopping it before it had warmed up (turned it off within a fwe seconds ops). Any way I am guessing its now flooded... tried the method of sticking gas to the floor and cranking for 7-8 seconds to deflood it, but this isn't working
What can I do? I've kept trying this method and cranking and nothing... smells of fuel when doing the deflood method - is this because its shooting it out the back?
Any help appreciated. I've heard about taking the plugs out and crakning it? Is this right? Where the **** are the plugs hah!
Will

Pull the plugs and pull the EGI? fuse? I'm not sure what disables fuel and ignition on the RX-8's. Crank it until the mist of fuel is gone. Put everything back and fire it up
Cheers guys, managed to get it running yesterday. Didn't have the correct tool to get the plugs out, so took the fuel pump fuse out, floored it, cranked it for about 15minutes (not continuously heh), then eventually got it running again (followed by a LOT of smoke)
All is ok now ! Thanks.

Just let it warm up next time. I always think its funny when they flood and you are wherever you parked it and everyone sees you cranking on it and nothing happening. Then when it does start it smokes so bad that they blame you for global warming. Good thing you got it started.
