It's a side-port exhaust 13B The side port arrangements give it bigger ports, plus they can open earlier and close later than a regular peripheral exhaust. It's a little cramped getting everything in and out of the motor, but it breathes a hell of a lot better. Other than some side seal tricks, that's really it.
I heard they dont lend themselves to blown applications, is this jsut becasue of the 10:1 compression and the fact that they run leaner than the rx7s?

the renesis isn't very strange--it's the computer that's strange.
side exhausts are obvious
3rd oil control or "blow-by" ring
wedge shaped side seals
metal insert in the corner seal
bevels on the rotors increase the effective port timing
lighter rotors and e-shaft
shorter apex seals seal better at higher rpm's
lighter irons
better manufacturing consistancy on everything
intake is just the 6pi with vdi...kinda like a hopped up s5. ports are bigger, though.
aux port actuators are now actuated by a motor, instead of the smog pump. the whole intake design just flows better than the previous n/a's.
they're just as friendly to blowers as the next engine, but they don't respond to turbos the way the older motors did. the side exhaust ports are extremely restrictive stock. we're gonna try a turbo on one of the engines i ported and see what the spoolup is like.
