hey im tring to find out if the rx4's using a fat ball joint like the 1st gen's...i need accurate measurements of a rx4 ball joint and maybe some pics also...anyone got an old ball joint laying around? i need you to measure the diameter where it's pressed into the control arm..thanks

I too have an RX4. While I can't take it appart to check what you are asking I do have a shop manual and parts catalog. Would it contain the specs you are looking for? If so I can look it up for you or scan the pages. Let me know.

hey Max thanks for taking the time to reply...im sure there are more guys on here that probably have an idea on the dimensions of the rx4 ball joint, but u know how it is on this forum....
i need to know if the rx4 ball joint is the same diameter as the 1st gen's ball joint, not the tapered stem but the actual diameter where it's pressed into the control arm..
im working on an off the shelf balljoint that will allow the use of 2nd gen spindles,hubs, coilover struts & brakes....so far i've figured out the 1stgen & rx2 setup, so if the rx4 is the same as the 1st gen then that'll be in the bag as well...
