RX3 SP project

I am working on a 77 RX3 SP. It is mostly original 97,000 miles and has not moved under it's own power it about 15 years. Here are a few pics.

It is pretty solid overall. It has rust in the lower rear quarter on passenger side, some random odd rust holes (nose cone, firewall, decklid) Had a half vinyl top that caused some healthy surface rust and a few places on the "frame" rails.

The good news is that it is original and not mucked up by previous owners. I look forward to having it as a daily driver.

I will try and keep pics comming as work progresses.

My suggestion is to take your time as in one thing at a time. If you rush to get it done 100% immediately, its not easy to absorb a large bill

Well thanks for all the input.... I do find myself in an odd spot as I have acquired a rustfree 73 in VERY nice shape for a good price this week. The 73 is a driver...

So now I am torn as what to do....

keep both, work on 1. And when your done with that one, start on the other. You will gain more money than selling it and keeping it in the bank.

Keep BOTH!

drive one, while restoring the other!

I drive my Rx3-SP everyday and go home and work on the R100 as time allows!

In WA State any car more then 30 years old qualifies for the collector plate, no TABS or inspections EVER!

Just FUN!

I am seriously pondering letting go of the SP.... I have found out that I am going to be a dad for the second time!!!!!!!!!!!! which is VERY cool but will mean the SP moves way down the list... Just thinking someone else maybe should have a shot at the SP....

I am really in a funk about it though.......

Hey bro put a good price on it, don't let this fools low ball you. This car is worth money don't let them tell you otherwise.. We will all prosper if we can keep the Rx3 value high.

So should I put it on a auction site??? Or pick a price I think is fair and post it in the for sale section?? I want to be fair about it....

I have a thought of value but am not sure. I have kept track of cars selling on c-list and that auction site.

go for both! In all honesty, i payed 5k for mine and the body isn't in as good shape as yours. Though my interior was in better shape. So really it will end up on how much they offer you and how long you plan to wait to get the right offer.

Why r u making prices for other people's car? Who r u tell someone what price to sell their car at. If the man wants 3k (ex) than that's what he want's. U need to mind ur own business and let him sell his car for what he want's. STOP JACKING UP THE PRICE!!!!!!!!!

I did not intend to start something regarding what someone else payed for a car. I just thought most people would be reasonible and if they are interested they can PM me what they think it is worth.

Most RX-7 club members are low-ballers
